India announces first manned space mission
Indian space agency said it will launch the first manned mission into
space in 2016.
A senior official of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in
Bangalore, said the two astronauts are expected to participate.
We are ready for manned space flight, ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan told
reporters.
We design, development and unity for the manned space mission for the next
four years, he said.
Observers believe that India has become a major player in the
multibillion-dollar space market.
In September, seven satellites launched on a single mission, almost a
month after having its first moon mission in the country has been
abandoned.
ISRO said it would soon list two astronauts trained for space travel.
The manned mission will be 124 billion rupees ($ 2,676,740,597) cost.
Delhi has agreed to the mission, officials said space at the BBC.
Space of India is also developing a complete installation of a complete
training in Bangalore, home of the astronauts.
The country first lunar mission Chandrayaan Unmanned, last year.
The second project Unmanned Chandrayaan-II will start in the first quarter
of 2013 – a prelude to manned space mission.

India is also planning a mission to Mars in 2030.
